A Working Smoke Detector Saves Lives

This weekend we "spring" forward by advancing our clocks one hour. In conjuction with the time change it is also a good time to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Consider This...

We have had some terrible fire related tragedies in Region 8 over the past few months. Let's make sure we all have smoke detectors... working smoke detectors... in our homes so we can increase the chances of receiving a potential life-saving warning in the event of a fire.

Smoke detectors have become very affordable with many averaging around $10. However, if your financial situation is such that you cannot afford to purchase a smoke detector please contact your local fire department. Many fire departments participate in free smoke alarm distribution and installation programs for eligible residents.

Take the time to replace the batteries or install a smoke detector. The warning you receive may be the one thing that saves your life and the lives of the people you love.
