LITTLE ROCK, AR - A colleage of state Senator Jerry Taylor of Pine Bluff says Taylor has been released from a hospital after an overnight stay because of bout with an intestinal disease.
Senator Denny Altes of Fort Smith said the 69-year-old Taylor checked himself into the UAMS hospital Thursday afternoon. Altes said Taylor went to the hospital after experiencing extreme stomach pain. Altes said Taylor left the hospital that night, but medical staff called him and asked him to spend the night, and he did.
Altes said Taylor had a case of diverticulitis, a disease causing inflammation of the colon that can lead to serious infection. Altes said Taylor planned to rest and take antibiotics before returning to the state Capitol today.
