Ex-Congressman and Wife Plan To Buy Back Her Old Liquor Store

BRINKLEY, AR - Former congressman Tommy Robinson and his wife Carolyn plan to buy a Brinkley liquor store that she owned before a bankruptcy trustee took possession of it. The Robinsons will pay 175-thousand dollars for The Liquor Store of Brinkley. Trustee Frederick Wetzel said the Robinsons matched the highest offer that had come in for the store. About 100-thousand dollars will be used to repay a first mortgage made to the store by BancorpSouth's Brinkley branch. Tommy Robinson said the couple's son, Jeff, would borrow money for the purchase. The Robinsons' former partners in a hunting lodge object to the sale.
