Beebe Appoints Rogers Man to ASU Board of Trustees

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Mike Beebe has named Howard L. Slinkard of Rogers to the Board of Trustees of Arkansas State University.

"Howard Slinkard's loyal support of ASU and his experience in higher education will combine to benefit both this institution and this state," Beebe said.   "I am so proud to appoint Howard to the same board that I was appointe to by Governor Dale Bumpers in 1974."

Slinkard, 60, is the founding partner of the Slinkard Law Firm in Rogers and has practiced law in Arkansas for almost 35 years.  For the past twelve years, he has served on the Northwest Arkansas Community College Board of Trustees, including two years as chairman during the national search for a new president of the college.

A native of Trumann, Slinkard graduated from ASU in 1969 with a B.A. in Political Science, and received his law degree from the University of Arkansas in 1972.  Slinkard's extended family boasts two dozen ASU graduates.
