Mennonites Leaving Missouri for Arkansas over Photo Requirements

HUNTSVILLE, MO - A new law created to keep the state safe from terror attacks is driving some area Mennonites out of Missouri.

The law removes a 30-year exemption that allowed certain religious groups to obtain driver's licenses without photos.  Many Mennonites consider having their pictures taken a sin.

Those families are instead moving to Arkansas, where state law still allows that exemption.

More than a dozen Mennonite families near Huntsville have already moved or plan to move.  Other Mennonite enclaves near Rolla, Springfield and Vandalia are facing similar ultimatums.
