McCRORY, AR - Representative Marion Berry and Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor say the Economic Development Association will invest $1.2 million to help build a rail spur from an intermodal rail yard at Marion.
The spur announced yesterday will connect Calpaco Incorporated to the yard 60 miles away and allow for faster shipments of the company's paper goods.
The congressional delegation, all Democrats, said the investment could create 250 to 300 jobs.
Calpaco Papers will occupy the former American Greetings building in McCrory. The company will trim large rolls of papers into sheets and smaller rolls for use by commercial printers.
