Train Hits, Kills Teen in White County

HIGGINSON, AR - Officials say a 15-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a train while walking on railroad tracks in White County.

Union Pacific spokesman Joe Arbona says the boy was struck at 4:45 p.m. yesterday in Higginson.  He says members of the train crew saw the boy before impact.  They blew the train's horn and tried to brake the train, but could not stop it in time.

The boy's name has not been released by the White County Sheriff's department.
