Broyles to Lead Alzheimer "Memory Walk" in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR - University of Arkansas athletic director Frank Broyles will join U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln next month in Jonesboro in leading the Alzheimer's Association's annual Memory Walk.

Broyles and Lincoln will serve as honorary co-chairs for the event, set for April 21 at Jonesboro High School's Cooksey-Johns Stadium.  Approximately 200 people are expected to participate in the event, to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association.

Broyles' wife Barbara died of the disease last year, and the veteran coach and athletic director has since spent much of his time championing the cause of the Alzheimer's Association.  Last month, he testified before Congress, lobbying the panel for more federal funding for research of the disease, which affects 4.5 million Americans.

To register for the event, or to make a donation, log on to www.jonesborowalk.kintera.org or call 501-265-0027.
