LITTLE ROCK (AP) - A library department in Little Rock will be studying race relations in Arkansas with a $330,000 grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation. The grant was awarded to the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies.
The two-year study will look at the role of race relations in Arkansas history, as well as the status of current relations with the growing population of other ethnic groups in the state. The project also will include development of curricula and materials for teachers and classroom use. The center additionally plans to make some of the materials available online.
