Jonesboro-Based Ambulance Company Honored by State as "Family-Friendly"

JONESBORO, AR - A northeast Arkansas-based ambulance company was honored yesterday by the Arkansas Dept. of Health & Human Services at the fifth annual Governor's Family-Friendly Employer Awards.

Medic One, headquartered in Jonesboro with satellite branches in Blytheville, Manila, Osceola, Pocahontas and Walnut Ridge, received the Spotlight Award, which is presented as a special recognition to those employers "who have an outstanding company policy or program that addresses employees and their families."  The award was presented by Governor Mike Beebe.

Medic One also has branches in four Missouri Bootheel communities.

Nucor Steel of Blytheville was also the recipient of a Spotlight Award, while The Heritage Company, which has locations in Jonesboro and Searcy, was the recipient of an Innovative Award.
