Beebe Issues First Vetoes as Governor

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Governor Beebe issued his first vetoes today since becoming governor in January. Beebe vetoed three bills passed in the legislative session that ended recently.

Two of the bills appropriate money from the state surplus and General Improvement Fund. One would grant $200,000 for scholarships and remodeling at a school for disabled students in northwest Arkansas; the other affects funding for the Lake Village Fire Department.

The third bill vetoed would have broadened the state's industrial development revenue bond law.
