LITTLE ROCK, AR - Two more school districts have been removed from the state's fiscal distressed list. The state Board of Education approved a recommendation to remove the Dollarway and the Lead Hill districts from the list because of improvements they've made in the last two years.
Dollarway expects now to have a balance of $3.6 million at the end of the school year, and Lead Hill projects a balance of more than $246,000.
Several districts have been removed from the fiscal distressed list recently. However, the Hughes (St. Francis Co.) and Turrell (Crittenden Co.) in Region 8 remain on the list, as do the Helena-West Helena, Midland and Omaha.
