Peach Drive Kicks Off

April 10, 2007 - Posted at 5:11 p.m. CDT

JONESBORO, AR -- It's time to start thinking about peaches already!

The Jonesboro Church Health Center is kicking off its annual fundraiser by selling boxes of Georgia peaches.  The group hopes to sell at least 650 boxes of peaches this year.  The peach drive is the Health Center's only fundraiser.

"Anyone in the community can buy a box of peaches for $100 dollars and the donation goes directly to the Jonesboro Church Health Center and a portion of the donation is tax deductable, which kind of hits right now at tax season time," said peach chair Mary Kay Jones.

Orders can be placed until June 15th by calling (870) 972-4777 or 935-6032.  Each box contains 3/4 bushel of peaches.  The peaches will be delivered to home or business address and should be available by the last week in June or the first week in July.
