LITTLE ROCK (AP) - The special masters who are reviewing the state's efforts to fund public schools adequately and fairly have asked attorneys for more information about school legislation passed during the session that ended last week.
Special masters Bradley Jesson and David Newbern requested information for their review of the state's efforts in the long-running Lake View school-funding case. The masters asked for more information on a measure designed to address the fact that not all counties collect 98 percent of the property taxes owed to schools, an assumption built into previous formulas. The masters hold a conference with attorneys in the case next Tuesday.
