New Grain Bag Displayed For Local Farmers

REGION 8 - An international effort in the world of farming has come to Region 8.  Invented and developed in Argentina, The Mainero bagging system is an important innovation in the harvesting and storage of grains.  Utilizing a 9 by 200 foot polyethlene bag, grain crops can be stored in or near the fields they were harvested in.

These grains can be stored for up to a year and a half with no loss of moisture or presence of disease. These grain bags can be used instead of building the expensive metal silos seen on many Arkansas farms. This system will be new to Arkansas farmers this year but has been used for many years in Argentina, Australia and Canada.
