UPDATE: Saturday Night Apartment Shooting a Hoax

***UPDATED April 22, 2007 at 3:58 p.m. CDT****

JONESBORO-It turns out a Saturday evening shooting at the Links Apartments was actually a hoax.

After continuing their investigation, Jonesboro Police say they discovered that 29 year old Shane Gulley had not been shot at all, and that he actually just had cuts from a piece of broken glass.

Gulley had told police that he went to visit his friend, 35 year old Brian Purcell's apartment, when he noticed the window broken and an unidentified man who he claimed fired several rounds.

It is now believed that Purcell and Gulley had actually been in some kind of a dispute over a laptop computer.

After questioning Purcell, police searched the man and found 14 grams of "ICE" which is a form of methamphetamine.  He was arrested on charges of possession.

Meanwhile, Gulley could now face charges of filing a false police report.

Officials with the Links Apartments say those involved in the incident have been evicted from the premises.
