Forrest City Preacher Charged with Stabbing His Wife

WEST MEMPHIS, AR - A Forrest City man may face charges of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his estranged wife yesterday at a West Memphis medical clinic.

Police say 66-year-old Thomas Holloway went to the Crittenden County Doctor's Professional Building on West Tyler Street at approximately 10 a.m. Monday, where his wife, 49-year-old Linda Holloway, had apparently taken her mother for an appointment.  Authorities say as Thomas Holloway entered the building, he initially approached the receptionist before spotting his wife, whom he then attacked with a knife and stabbed her in the neck and face.

Linda Holloway collapsed and was taken to Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis before being airlifted to The Med in Memphis, where she is listed in critical condition this morning.  Her husband was arrested at the scene, reportedly with a knife in his possession.

Police say the Holloways were married only four months ago, but Linda Holloway had left her husband recently.  Thomas Holloway is also a preacher at a Forrest City church.  He is to appear in court tomorrow at 5 p.m.
