LITTLE ROCK, AR - Senator Mark Pryor had a meeting with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales yesterday morning, and the Democrat says he told Gonzales he should resign.
Pryor first called for Gonzales' resignation last month, saying the Justice Department circumvented the Senate nomination process for U.S. attorneys.
In December, federal prosecutor Bud Cummins resigned and Tim Griffin was named the interim U.S. Attorney for the eastern district of Arkansas. Cummins has said he was asked to step down to make room for Griffin, a former aide to presidential adviser Karl Rove.
Pryor and Gonzales met in Washington.
