Violent Offender with Mental Commitment Mistakenly Released from Jail

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who should have been sent back to the state hospital but was released from the Pulaski County Jail.

Sheriff's spokesman John Rehrauer says there was no order to hold 45-year-old Earl Lee Parker when he finished a sentence for attacking a nurse at the State Hospital. Parker was to have remained committed to the hospital but Rehrauer says that order somehow didn't make it to the jail until a day after Parker's release.
