Former First Lady Talks Up Red Cross

HOPE, AR - While her husband travels the country as part of a presidential bid, Janet Huckabee is traveling for the American Red Cross.

At the Melon Patch restaurant Monday, Mrs. Huckabee gave a presentation on safety for senior citizens.  She encouraged seniors to be prepared in case of disasters, such as the bad winter weather that hit the region in 2000.

She suggested that seniors keep an emergency kit packed with a week's supply of medicine, bacterial wipes, a first aid kit, a poncho, canned foods, tools, a radio and fresh batteries.
