Lake City Man Arrested Again on Porn Charges

NEWPORT, AR - The woes continue for a Lake City man who was arrested last week by Craighead County authorities on charges related to pornography, firearms and drugs.

Just after bonding out of jail on the Craighead County charges, 46-year-old Jerry Brown was arrested this morning by police in Newport on a charge of circulating and distributing obscene films.   "He was taken into custody this morning at the Newport Police Department," said NPD detective Donnie Shulz.

Craighead County District Judge Keith Blackman had just set a $10,000 bond for Brown, who was arrested last Thursday after a joint investigation by the Craighead County Sheriff's Dept. and the Newport PD.  While executing a search warrant on Brown's residence at 306 Catfish Drive in Lake City, officers allegedly found several weapons and crystal methamphetamine.  They also allegedly found evidence that supports another investigation by Newport police, who are investigating allegations that Brown and 36-year-old Tammy Walker went to a Newport business (Medallion Foods) and delivered several DVDs containing suspected images of people having sexual relations.

Walker turned herself into Newport police Monday evening, and is to appear in Jackson County Circuit Court on May 24.

Shulz says Brown is in custody in the Newport jail at this time.
