Two Region 8 Democrats in Running for House Speaker's Job

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Now that the General Assembly has completed its work, members of the Arkansas House are working to pick the next House Speaker.

The chamber is to convene in January to formally make its choice.  Those interested in the job have eight months to try come up with enough votes of their peers.

So far, four representatives have announced for the job, including two from Region 8...David Cook of Williford (Sharp County) and David Dunn of Forrest City (St. Francis County).  David Rainey of Dumas and Robbie Wills of Conway have also expressed interest in the job.  All four are Democrats.

Earlier, Gregg Reep of Warren announced he planned to run for speaker but now says he has had a change of heart.
