Valley View -- For the third consecutive year, Valley View took home the Golden Apple Award. The Award recognizes the top school in the state, and for Valley View that's calls for a celebration.
Students gathered on the football field for a Pep Rally which included cheering, singing, and of course American Idol? That's right, it was Valley View meets American Idol, where Ryan Seacrest, Paula, Simon, and Randy all made a guest appearance... well not really, just a few of the students dressed up.
All classes let out for the special event. Kelli Onstead, a 4th Grade teacher at Valley View, says they deserve the fun for their dedication to education.
"We've worked so hard, the kids have worked so hard. And this is just a way to say we thank you for that hard work. We get to come out and celebrate and have fun because of all of our hard work all year long"
The Junior and Senior High Dance Teams performed thier routines, and many of the students and teachers joined in with them.
"I think we really set the standard for schools. We are a small school district, and I know that we work really hard here. I love Valley View and I'm glad we can be a part of this." Hollie Henderson, a Senior Cheerleader kept the students high in spirit with fun cheers and chants.
"We're just trying to get everyone in on the fun. We are so proud of ourselves and we just want to show our appreciation to one another."
