Panel on Presidential Debates to Check Out UCA as Possible Site

CONWAY, AR - The University of Central Arkansas says members of the Commission on Presidential Debates are to visit the Conway campus on Thursday.  UCA is under consideration to host a debate next year and the visit is part of the application process.

The opening meeting will be held at the Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall.

UCA is among 19 applicants to host a presidential or vice-presidential debate.  Three presidential debates are to be held next year, and one for the vice-presidential candidates.

The Commission on Presidential Debates is a nonprofit, nonpartisan corporation that has sponsored presidential debates in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2004.
