Bus Stabbing Suspect can be Tried as an Adult

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO - A 14-year-old southeast Missouri boy accused of stabbing another juvenile on a South Pemiscot School District bus last week has been certified to stand trial as an adult.

A judge made the ruling yesterday in a juvenile certification hearing for Raymond Allen Johnson, who has been charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.  The charges stem from a May 2 incident near Steele, MO.  Johnson is being held without bond.

The victim, 14-year-old John Moore, remains hospitalized in Memphis, but is said to be in good condition.  "Investigators spoke with him on Friday and he is doing fine," said Lt. Ryan Holder with the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department.
