Finding a New Home

The little white church on West Huntington Avenue in Jonesboro may not look like much from the outside. In fact, it hasn't been used for more than a year, and its now up for sale. But Pastor Charles Simmons says all it needs is life back inside. He and his wife Priscilla think it would make a perfect home for their congregation. The Divine Wisdom Prophetic Ministry is growing and they need more room than their current location can provide. "We're not able to have the fellowship that we'd like to have. I believe it will accommodate more people and we'll be able to go out and witness and have people come in and be more comfortable and not be packed in."
The Simmons have been ministering in Jonesboro for more than three years now, and they say a lot of work still needs to be done. Priscilla says she supports what her husband is trying to do. "There is a need in Jonesboro for the Kingdom of God to be established and expanded. The place that we're at now, we're outgrowing it for what God has called my husband to do. By the Power of Prayer, we're believing God that this will be established."
There's only one problem. Even with church members pledging their entire savings toward the purchase of this building, they still don't have enough for the down payment. Pastor Simmons says just getting this far is an answer to prayer. "The way we came about this little church is we were praying and the Lord showed me this little white church and as I was riding I saw this building. Me and some of the Saints, we came and we prayed and laid hands on this building and we prayed and asked the Lord to bless us with this building."
Priscilla says they're already making plans in the event their need is met. "We plan to go out and get them too. The Bible says go into highways and byways and compel them to come in, and with this building we can compel more people to come in. We plan to canvas this neighborhood, and even reach further to bring them into where God needs for them to be."
