MARKED TREE-Just after 5 on Thursday evening the Marked Tree Fire Department responded to a building on fire on Highway 63 B.
Upon their arrival they found the Mickey's Quickie Tobacco Shop fully engulfed in flames.
It took firefighters til just after 9:00 p.m. to get the blaze under control.
During that time power was shut off to several hundred residents, and traffic along 63-B was at a stand still as emergency vehicles were coming and going from the scene.
We are told it is believed that the fire started in a cooler.
The building's current owner says it was split in half between Mickey's and what used to be a NAPA Auto Parts. He says he had just recently moved the NAPA store to a new location.
The building was completely destroyed, but we are told that it was insured and owners plan to rebuild.
One firefighter was transported to the NEA Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.
No other injuries were reported.
As we were leaving the scene traffic was shut down to one lane, and we were told crews would probably be on the scene for several more hours.
We will have the latest on this story on Good Morning Region 8 and any updates throughout the day on Friday.
