IMBODEN, AR - The state Board of Education says an unpaid loan of $35,000, along with other financial problems, could shut down the Imboden Area Charter School.
The Lawrence County school, which has just 62 students, will soon receive a notice that the state intends to revoke its charter because of financial issues, the Board of Education decided Monday. The Imboden school primarily serves economically disadvantaged students, school director Judy Warren said.
Once the school receives notice of its violations, it can request a public hearing to respond to the charges. That hearing must occur within 45 days of the request.
