PARAGOULD, AR -- This is a big weekend for residents in Greene County. There are several events going on this weekend in Paragould that will provide excellent entertainment.
There's a softball tournament, a basketball tournament, a motorcycle show, a 5 kilometer run, and the Loose Caboose Festival.
Thousands of people make their way down here during the three day event.
"Last year we guessed that there were about 6,000 and this year I believe we will top that," said Gina Jarrett.
This event is mostly a free music festival.
"If you choose to ride a carnival ride or eat or drink you will have to pay but the entertainment is free Thursday night, Friday night, and all day Saturday," said Jarrett.
The event is held on the tracks, but it's also within a half block of Main Street.
"We have made a big effort this year to take into consideration that we are basically closing down the back door to many of the businesses on Pruett Street," said Jarrett.
In the five kilometer run there are already runners from ten states coming to take part in the race. We feel like they have to buy gas, they have to eat, and they have to stay somewhere so that's a major impact right there.
There will also be bikers in town for a motorcycle event called "Riding on the Rails".
On satuday over 50 softball teams will be in town for the "Track Power Classic" softball tournament. That tournament will start at six o'clock on Friday at Rotary Park in Paragould. There is a gate fee of $4 for adults and $2 for students.
