Political leaders in Washington announced that much progress has been made on immigration reform with support coming from a majority in the Senate and the White House. Getting approval from the House may prove more difficult.
Something has to be done to address illegal immigration and although the current plan still has some issues that need to be addressed, it is certainly a good start.
Many people will try to pick apart the plan, but not offer any constructive suggestions for improvement. Or, offer suggestions that are completely unrealistic.
The problem is not going away... illegal immigrants are not going away...
Let's get something in place to manage this situation... to create a legal system to deal with the problem.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said it best when he called the proposal the "last, best chance we'll have as a Congress" to enact immigration reform.
