JONESBORO, AR - Tuesday night was a big night for folks in Independence County...as they were featured in the KAIT Community Spotlight.
As the cameras rolled....Greene County officials came together to discuss the most important issues facing their communities.
"There's lots of opportunity there, growth is fantastic, and it's been proven in the numbers and everything like that. The people are fantastic," said Brian Osborn of KDSR Radio.
"I think the biggest one that is on everybody's mind is the meth problem because you hear so much about it. And there is so much of a happening, so it has everybody concerned, where is the ending at?" asked Greene County Judge Jesse Dollars, "When we going to be able to balance things out or something so I think it's one of the biggest issues all over the state."
Greene County panelist tackled topics from road conditions to emergency planning. But they all agreed....it's the people that make it what it is.
"The volunteer spirit in Paragould is tremendous. We have a Relay for Life event that is coming up in a couple of weeks that is one of the largest in the state. And that's happened in the last 10 years or so," said Osborn.
Region 8 viewers weighed in with their e-mails and phone calls.
"I think the only thing that threw everybody for a loop was the gas prices and there is nothing that we can do about it. We all pay more," said Dollars.
