FAYETTEVILLE, AR - Charles Thomas, a starter at forward the past two seasons for Arkansas, has entered a not-guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of third-degree battery.
Thomas was arrested on the charge April 21 after police were called to the scene of an argument between Thomas and his ex-girlfriend. A police report said both had skin abrasions.
A lawyer for Thomas, Robert Jones, called the plea in to Fayetteville District Court. Trial has been set for August 8.
Razorback Coach John Pelphry says a suspension of Thomas at the start of the season appears unlikely.
