Lockdown Lifted at SeMo School

SIKESTON, MO - A lockdown at Sikeston High School has been lifted.

According to an official with the school, an item was found on a street just off the school property.  Standard procedure for the school district is that if police are involved near school property, the campus automatically goes into lockdown mode.

According to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, a suspicious item was found on a street in front of the school.  With assistance from a "bomb squad," the device has since been removed.
