Paragould Man Drowns in St. Francis River

DIXIE, AR - The body of an 18-year-old Paragould man was recovered from the St. Francis River near Dixie yesterday, Craighead County Sheriff's Deputy Terry McNatt said.

The body of Marshall Horton was recovered around 4:15 p.m. at Williams Landing.  Craighead County Coroner Toby Emerson says it appears to have been an accidental drowning.

McNatt said Horton was with about 20 to 30 friends when he jumped off a bridge that was close to a river access.  His body was found about 30 to 40 feet from where he jumped.
