WYNNE, AR - A company wanting to build a $15 million privately run golf course and lodge in a northeast Arkansas state park hopes to complete the project next summer.
Officials at Village Creek Resorts, LLC say they received $1.2 million in loans from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and hope to get a $7 million loan from the Arkansas Development Finance Authority for the project. Construction has begun on the 27-hole golf course at Village Creek State Park. When completed, the project will include a lodge with meeting rooms and a restaurant, 17 villas and a golf pro shop.
The lodge will be built just north of the state park entrance and east of Highway 284. Officials initially anticipated opening the resort this year.
