Arkansas Regulators to Fight Entergy System Agreement

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas regulators say they will continue to fight a payment under the Entergy system agreement that will increase bills for Entergy Arkansas' residential customers by more than 12 percent.  Entergy Corporation has detailed how it will use the $252 million payment from Entergy Arkansas that was ordered by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

State officials say they still hope they can get some relief through a federal court.  Attorney General Dustin McDaniel says political maneuvering by the Louisiana Public Service Commission put Arkansas ratepayers in an unfair position.  The Louisiana Commission's complaint led FERC to order the Entergy Arkansas payment, which will result in increased rates for Arkansans.
