Bomb Intended for Police Found at West Plains Post Office

WEST PLAINS, MO - A West Plains postal worker found a package that contained an explosive device and was addressed to West Plains police.

U.S. Postal Inspector Dan Taylor said the suspicious package found over the weekend was rendered safe.  No one was injured.

The Missouri Highway Patrol Bomb Unit was called to the post office after the postal worker notified authorities.  The bomb unit rendered the package safe soon after X-raying it and confirming an explosive device was inside.

The Postal Service has issued a $100,000 reward for information leading to a suspect arrest and conviction.
