Independence Co. Man Takes Prints to Help Solve Copper Caper

SULPHUR ROCK, AR - A man at Sulphur Rock made plaster casts of shoe prints found on his property, hoping to help investigators solve a chicken coop copper caper.

Danny Sandy said 1,500 feet of copper wire were stolen from a chicken house on his property late last week.  When he noticed footprints, he made a plaster cast and called Independence County deputies.  The copper is valued at $2,000.

The number of copper thefts has increased recently as prices for the metal have gone up.
