Starting Anew in Region 8

Last week Ted Fortenberry said his final farewell to you and spoke of a new beginning for me here at KAIT. Ted has been an asset to our station, our company, and our community. He will surely be missed... and I realize I will have large shoes to fill as I move forward.  I can't tell you how happy I am to follow in his footsteps.

There are some things I would like you to know about me. I am a native of Region 8.  Grew up in Rector, Graduated from Arkansas State, and worked behind the scenes for 7 years right here at KAIT. My return marks the first time in two decades that this station will be managed by a native of our viewing area, and I am so very proud to be the new captain of this ship.

However, I need you to consider this...

Early last year our parent company asked that all of our managers  provide regular commentaries to address the needs and issues of our communities.  While I have never been accused of not having an opinion on an issue... I realize that I have been away from Region 8 for almost a decade and the last thing that you want, is for me to stand in front of this camera and begin spouting opinions before I've had the chance to become reaquainted with the area. So as we move forward and get to know each other better, I hope that you can help me become educated on issues that affect you and your community as we all work together for a better Region 8.
