Theft Investigation Sparks Firings in Russellville

RUSSELLVILLE, AR - Two city of Russellville employees were fired after a police investigation into the theft of city-purchased auto parts, spray paint and aluminum cleaner.

Officials say both Public Works Department Director Morgan Barrett and foreman Brad Teeter are not facing criminal charges, but the mayor fired the two after the investigation.

A summary report on the police investigation shows employees had questions about items purchased by Teeter through city accounts that "never made it to the city shop."

The report showed Barrett was aware of Teeter's actions and that the director called employees into his office, threatening to suspend them if they did not say what they told police.
