JONESBORO- A late night visit to a buddy turns two local men into heroes.
Around 12:00 a.m. Friday night, the Jonesboro Fire Department was called to this residence located at 206 Lamesa.
When units arrived they found the garage area and two vehicles fully involved, more units were dispatched leading up to a total of seven units including a tank truck.
Fire fighters made a preliminary search but were unsure if the residents were still in the house and were unable to locate them because of flame and heavy smoke.
But due to fast and heroic action by two local men, the occupants, Jerry and Betty Phillips, were already out of the house and safe.
