Arkansas Soldier Dies in Explosion in Iraq

BISMARK, AR - The Defense Department says an Arkansan serving in the U.S. Army died in Iraq from injuries he suffered in an explosion.  Specialist Jeremy L. Stacey, 23, of Bismark died in Baghdad on July 5.  Stacey was assigned to the Second Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, Fourth Brigade Combat Team, First Cavalry Division at Fort Bliss, Texas.

Overall, a count by The Associated Press shows 46 military members from Arkansas have died in the Iraq war.  Two Arkansans have died in Afghanistan.
