Search for Former Butler County Clerk Now Centered on East Coast

MARION, VA - Authorities in Virginia have joined in the search for a former Butler County Clerk accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.

Authorities say John Dunivan's abandoned truck was found early Friday near Marion, Virginia.  The vehicle has been impounded by authorities.

The 60-year-old Poplar Bluff man served as Butler County's Clerk for twenty years, before retiring last year.  He faces charges of first-degree statutory sodomy in neighboring Ripley County, and is accused of having "deviate sexual intercourse" with an 11-year-old girl last month.
