Minneapolis, MN - An interstate bridge over the Mississippi River between Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota has collapsed into the river. Six people have died as and at least 50 people are reported injured according to the deputy director of the Minneapolis Emergency Preparedness. The collapse happened at the height of rush hour, around 6:05 P.M. CDT. Emergency responders on the scene tell the media that as many as 50 cars may be in the river.
The entire span of the Interstate 35-W bridge fell into the water and along the banks of the river leading to the river. People can be seen stranded along what is left of the bridge. There is no word yet on the cause of the collapse.
