ASU Closing In on Search for New Vice Chancellor

JONESBORO, AR - Three veteran administrators in higher education are finalists in the search for a new vice chancellor for academic affairs and research at Arkansas State University's main campus in Jonesboro.

According to search committee chairman Dr. Glen Jones, Chancellor Dr. Robert Potts has accepted the search committee's recommendation to invite the finalists for on-campus interviews.

The finalists are:

-Dr. Dee Hopkins, Dean of the College of Education at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

-Dr. G. Daniel Howard, Vice President for Administration and International Relations at the University of North Alabama.

-Dr. Chrisann Schiro-Geist, Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at the University of Memphis.

The three are expected to visit the campus after the fall semester begins.  During the visits, each candidate will meet with faculty, students and staff.  Each candidate will also participate in an open forum.
