Paragould Teacher Arrested After Her Husband Goes to Police with Evidence of Underage Sex

PARAGOULD, AR - Authorities in Greene County say a kindergarten teacher quit her job this week after her husband gave sheriff's deputies a videotape of her having sex with a teenager.  The tape resulted in a first-degree sexual assault charge against 25-year-old Monica Cluck.

Cluck is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Officials say the video showed the teenager drinking alcohol.  Sheriff's Captain Bruce Drope said the woman's husband, Jeffery, approached police last month with suspicions his wife was sexually involved with members of the Singing Hands sign-language choir at her church.

A sheriff's report said the 17-year-old victim acknowledged the relationship.

State law says first-degree sexual assault occurs when an adult in a position of trust or authority over a person younger than 18 engages in sexual activity with the minor.

Monica Cluck declined to comment.

Paragould School District superintendent Aaron Hosman says he accepted Cluck's resignation on Wednesday.

Cluck was freed without bond.
