Craighead County Joins Burn Ban List

JONESBORO, AR - Craighead County this morning became the latest Region 8 county to issue a burn ban in the wake of extreme heat and dry conditions in northeast Arkansas.

Craighead County Judge Dale Haas issued the ban this morning, meaning that it is now temporarily unlawful for anyone to burn anything outdoors until the ban is lifted.

"This burn ban will remain in place until such time as there has been enough rain to remedy the fire hazard situation or otherwise notified," said Haas.

Other Region 8 counties currently under a burn ban are Baxter, Cleburne, Fulton, Greene, Jackson, Independence, Izard, Randolph, Poinsett, St. Francis, Sharp, Stone, White and Woodruff.
