Ruby Tuesday Denied Liquor Permit for Jonesboro Franchise

LITTLE ROCK, AR - K8 News has learned this morning that a Jonesboro restaurant has been denied its request for a private club liqour permit by the state.

Ruby Tuesday, at 2915 Kazi Drive, filed an application with the state's Alcoholic Beverage Control board in July.  But, ABC Director Michael Langley of Paragould denied the request this morning, which is typically a part of the routine procedure if there is any formal opposition to a permit.  It is not yet known if Ruby Tuesday plans to appeal.  If there is an appeal, that decision will be made later by the ABC board.

Ruby Tuesday is part of a national chain of restaurants that specialize in traditional American cuisine such as steaks and burgers, and is seeking to become the twentieth establishment in dry Craighead County to obtain a private club liquor permit.  Other chain restaurants, such as Outback and O'Charley's, have been granted alcohol permits by the state, but the ABC board turned down a request for a permit last year by El Chico.
