Jackson County Authorities Make Three Arrests in Copper Theft

NEWPORT, AR - The theft of copper products continues to keep northeast Arkansas law enforcement authorities busy.

Three Jackson County residents were all formally charged with theft by receiving in Newport District Court this morning.  Authorities believe the trio from Grubbs is responsible for the recent theft of more than 300 pounds of copper wire and tubing from a location in Craighead County.  Jackson County authorities learned on Monday that the copper had been sold to a local scrap metal dealer.

Investigators have since arrested Angela Williford, Tim Williford, and Glen Linville, all of Grubbs.

Jackson County's Sheriff's Department is continuing to work with authorities in Craighead, Poinsett, Cross and Woodruff counties in on-going copper theft investigations.
