What's Going There? - New Growth in Paragould

August 15, 2007 -- Posted at 4:45 p.m. CST

Paragould, AR -- There's lots of construction in Paragould, so what are all those dirt piles and bricks going to be?

Construction is already underway for a new Lowe's Home Improvement Center and pretty soon you can sink your teeth into some chicken from Zaxby's. Both are being built on Hwy 412 West.

But these aren't the only things new to the area. Paragould has recently opened up their new cinema along with a strip mall beside it. The building boom has some business owners, like Ronda Taylor, excited.

"I think the new growth is good. It should bring more traffic down this road and of course I hope that will help me."

Taylor owns a party supply store and says she's only been open nine months and welcomes the new Lowe's going in Next Door.

"There are some drawbacks like my car stays dirty from the construction, but I can wash it. i'm looking at the big picture here, in the long run I think it will be better."

They're also expecting to open a new NEA Clinic on the West side of townand a new Concrete Manufacturer has just opened past Best Western.
